BetRivers publishes a single application covering casino and sportsbook on both iOS and Android, sharing one account, one wallet and one balance with the desktop site. Some Canadian coverage still states that iPhone users are limited to the mobile browser — that is out of date. The App Store listing is linked directly from the operator's own Ontario site and was confirmed present on 3 August 2026, alongside the Google Play listing.

How to download and install

Neither route creates a new account. The application authenticates against the existing BetRivers profile, inherits the verified status already attached to it, and draws on the same balance. A player who has verified identity on desktop does not repeat that step on mobile.

On iPhone and iPad

1. Open the App Store and search for BetRivers, or follow the App Store link published on the operator's Ontario site. Confirm the developer is Rush Street Interactive before installing.
2. Install and open the app. No account is created at this stage.
3. Sign in with the email address and password used on the website. The screen name is a display handle and will not work as a login credential.
4. Grant location permission when prompted. In Settings, the app's Location should be set to While Using the App with Precise Location enabled. Approximate location is rejected by the geolocation check.
5. Enable notifications selectively. Transaction and security alerts are useful; promotional notifications are optional and can be declined without affecting anything else.

On Android

1. Open Google Play and search for BetRivers, or follow the Play link from the operator's Ontario site. Verify the package name reads com.rush.on.ri.
2. Install and open the app. Installation from outside Google Play is not necessary and is not recommended: sideloaded builds of gambling apps are a well-established route for credential theft, and no legitimate reason exists to use one here.
3. Sign in with the website credentials.
4. Allow Location with precise accuracy. Under Settings, Apps, BetRivers, Permissions, Location must be permitted and the precise-accuracy toggle switched on.
5. Check battery optimisation if the app is repeatedly killed in the background. Aggressive power management on some Android skins can interrupt a live dealer session.

The step that is skipped most often is the fourth one, and it produces the most support tickets. Location permission is requested at first launch, but the geolocation check runs at the point of wagering rather than at login. An app can install cleanly, sign in successfully, load the lobby, and then refuse to open a single game — which reads as a broken app rather than a missing permission.

App versus desktop: what is actually missing

That the mobile catalogue is narrower than the desktop lobby is agreed across Canadian coverage of this operator. What no published source does is put a number on it — the claim appears as an unquantified caveat, which makes it impossible for a player to judge whether it matters.

BetGuard is Ontario's centralised self-exclusion register, and enrolling in it blocks access across every operator licensed in the province — not one site, all of them. It cannot be reversed before its term expires, by the operator or by anyone else, and that permanence is the mechanism working as designed rather than a limitation of it.
